Applied Cytometry Sytems (ACS) was formed in 1993 by Tony Burpee and Terry Godley and is based in Dinnington on the outskirts of Sheffield.
Our expanding operations in North America has led to Applied Cytometry Inc. Founded in 2001 based in Sacremento, California.
ACS develops and produces innovative solutions for traditional cytometers and Luminex systems. Our expertise covers sales, service, training, electronics, optics, mechanical design, software and customer support.
New products currently being introduced include the StarSystems product range for Multiplex technology using the Luminex® platform. Multiplex technology allows the simultanious qualitive or quantative analysis of analytes using colour-coded microspheres in a single tube or well.
Precise concentrations of two fluoresent dyes have been used to internally dye 100 distinctly coloured bead sets to create a 100 bead array. Each bead can be coated with reagents specific for the bioassay, including antigens, anitbodies, oligo-nucleotides, or enzyme substrates. A reporter molecul is labelled with a fluoresent dye for qualitive or quantative analysis of the bioassay.
