The IP Portfolio adminsitrator will be responsible for maintaining, updating and modifying the intellectual property (IP) portfolio datbase operated by Biofusion to track opportunities disclosed by world class researchers at the Universities of Sheffield and Cardiff.
Reporting to the biofusion IP Pipeline Manager, the administrator will maintain and develop the portfolio database such that the Biofusion IP Pipeline team will have access to all the necessary information to manage opportunities and to develop and execute strategies to commercialise IP.
Initially the candidate will be responsible for undertaking the activities descried below:
- Receipt and initial registration of commercial opportunities
- Maintenance and appropriate filing of paperwork
- Preparation of reports for the Pipeline team including relevant statistics
- Performing preliminary market and IP research
- Working with University staff to collect information
- Assisting with the organisation and co-ordination of visits to biofusion and the university by companies as appropriate
- Other activities related to the achievement of the above goals.
Key Qualities
The person we are looking for will ideally have:
- A Life Science Degree
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to focus on details and transcribe information accurately
- An enthusiastic and flexible attitude to working within a small team
- Exerpience of working with the MS office package, familiarity with the MS Access would be advantageous
Hours: Part time and flexibe with a total of 20 hours per week.
