NHS Supply Chain Head to speak at Medilink Innovation Day

The Managing Director of NHS Supply Chain, Patrick Johnson, is set to speak at the Medilink Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Day and Healthcare Business Awards on April 19th

Sponsored by Yorkshire Forward and Symmetry Medical Inc., the event will see Patrick Johnson explain the role of ‘NHS Supply Chain’- a highly publicised development which saw DHL take on responsibility for NHS Logistics and elements of the NHS Purchasing and Supplies Agency.

The event, to be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, will also see pioneering healthcare technology companies from Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) have their achievements recognised, and follows the success of last year’s event which saw over 100 healthcare organisations gather to celebrate the region’s innovations.

Medilink Y&H are inviting health technology companies from Yorkshire and Humber to nominate themselves for the five award categories – Innovation Award, Export Achievement Award, Start-up Award, Growth in Sector Award, Partnership with the NHS Award, and to nominate others for the Beacon Award for Outstanding Contribution to Healthcare.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see first hand the region’s great contribution to health technology - including an innovation zone showcasing companies’ products short-listed for the awards, and a health technology zone featuring wide ranging technology with application in healthcare.

The event, featuring expert speakers from across the healthcare sector, will see the winners automatically short-listed for the Medilink UK national medical technology healthcare awards.

Graeme Hall of leading medical lighting supplier Brandon Medical, who achieved overall winner and export achievement award at last year’s event, said: “The Medilink Innovation Day and Healthcare Business Awards was a great opportunity to showcase our business and brought welcome press exposure; all of which lifts the profile of our business and that of the region’s healthcare sector in general.”
