CellTran in Merger Talks to Create New Technology Leader in Wound Care

Biofusion plc today announces that one of its portfolio companies, CellTran Ltd, a Sheffield, UK-based wound care company, is in exclusive talks with the Belgian company Innogenetics N.V. towards combining the wound care activities of CellTran and XCELLentis N.V, a wholly owned subsidiary of Innogenetics. CellTran is a specialist provider of wound treatment products and services, while XCELLentis has a clinical stage pipeline of lead candidates for the treatment of chronic, hard-to-heal wounds. Such a combination could create a powerful technology leader in wound care treatment.
Biofusion is the largest shareholder in CellTran with a shareholding of 26.8% (24.1% fully diluted). CellTran was spun out of the University of Sheffield in 2000 supported by the White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund.
