Connecting to the Big Time
15/09/06

Getting your company ready for investment and growth can be a daunting prospect but Connect Yorkshire, the organisation that primes technology companies for growth and investment, is offering Yorkshire companies a helping hand.

Connect's Investor Readiness Programme, which is made up of a series of six free workshops, is designed to meet the needs of technology businesses on the hunt for growth and finance, whether bank, grant, loan, venture capital or business angel. So far Connect has helped more than 120 companies pitch for investment, between them securing more than £14m in international backing.

Topics covered by the Programme include 'Structuring An Investment Deal', 'Effective Negotiating Skills' and 'Accessing Support and Funding'.

For the first time, Connect is taking its free expertise on the road. Having already successfully launched the Investor Readiness Programme in Hull this month, Connect is now looking west. The Leeds workshops are due to start on 27 September with 'Practical Business Plans and How to Present your Proposition', at the Radisson Hotel, Leeds, beginning at 6pm.

Connect Yorkshire's executive director Nick Butler said: 'We've run the Investor Readiness Programme in Leeds for a number of years with some excellent results. We're really looking forward to meeting more new companies and helping them to achieve their aims and ambitions."
