SupaPlants Ltd was formally spun-off from the University of Sheffield via its commercial arm, Sheffield University Enterprises (SUEL) in 2001.
The company specialise in the development and marketing of gel-based products for the consumer and commercial horticultural markets.

The research, on which the company's patented intellectual property was, and still is based, conducted by Dr Bernie Jarvis who after retiring in December 2005 continues to consult on technical issues and will do in the furture. Based on sound science, Supaplants Ltd has a good blend of commercial and technical expertise, holding 19 patents and with its products sold in over 2500 outlets in six countries.
